First off, we are so excited to be on this journey with you!! There are a few things to expect during your treatment. Your provider will talk with you to determine your goals. Depending on the treatment that it chosen, you can expect treatment to take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. You likely won't feel much pain, but discomfort levels largely depend on individual tolerance and sensitivity. There is a potential for bruising but your provider will discuss how to minimize this!

What would exclude me from being eligible to get Botox?

At Bloom Blue, safety is our first priority. Your provider will go through many questionnaires to determine that you are a good candidate for Botox. The following are absolute contraindications to getting Botox and we ask that you not schedule if you have one of these conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to Botox/Dysport or one of its components

• If you are pregnant, may be pregnant or breastfeeding as Botox and Dysport are both contraindicated during these times.

Wow you have great questions!! We recommend that you avoid any over-the-counter medications that could cause blood thinning for a few days before treatment. This will help decrease your chance of bruising. Some examples of these medications are aspirin or aspirin-containing products, vitamin E, or fish oil. Another way to be prepared, is to have a clean, makeup free face. This will make for the quickest appointment as you won't have to wash your face prior to seeing your provider.

I got my Botox and I love it! I know my provider went over it, but can you remind me what to do for the next 24 hours after?

Yes of course! You were probably admiring your beautiful face and got distracted. We are happy to remind you of the instructions! For the first 24 hours after your appointment we ask that you do not massage the injected area. We ask that you refrain from any vigorous exercise and drinking any alcohol. We also want you to stay out of the sun for 72 hours as well as hot tubs or saunas. You can expect a mild headache within the first 24 hour, typically with your first Botox treatment. Thank you for trusting us with your care and remember, full results can take anywhere from 10-14 days!

When should I contact your office?

Our injectors are trained to deal with any type of emergencies you may face. We ask that you reach out to our office or injector immediately if you experience excessive swelling or pain, increased warmth at or around the treated area beyond 48-hours post treatment or extreme itching.
